As the last of our planned vendor markets closed their doors, I packed up my soaps & scrubs, waving goodbye to the lovely customers and to a chunk of my Christmas shopping funds. Being around the wares of all these talented vendors was beginning to make a dent in profits, but I never really did master the “make more than you spend “ best practice for these events.
I’m sad to transition away from orange, pumpkin, and patchouli, but you are always 6-8 weeks ahead of the season anyway when you make soap. I’ve already been sharing our Sleigh Ride, Frosted Forest, and Candy Cane Lane bar soaps with our local guests, and next week, they’ll be available to purchase right here! We’ll also have seasonal soaps like Fresh Snowmen, Fresh Snowflakes, and Christmas Cheer available for a limited time.
Of course, my soap-making ambitions are now battling against the inevitable holiday chaos. I don't know if I'm busy creating festive soap or hiding from the cleaning and decorating we’re so behind on. Maybe I can throw some snowmen soaps around and call it a day….
